Longing to be “Present with the Lord” (Article)

This article, along with “Worship, Prayer & Music”, “Defining ‘The Presence of the Lord’”, “The Shekinah”, “The Presence of God In Light of the New Covenant”, and“Experiencing the Manifested Presence of God”, are all excerpts from the book “The Manifested Presence of the Lord”. Hopefully, those previous articles help explain the phrase “times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19) and convince us of our need for such. I believe the reasons why we have this need are both implicit(not-so-obvious) and explicit (obvious). They all have to do with our response to life in “this present evil age” (Galatians 1:4; Cf. Ephesians 5:16) – we long to be “present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8)
