“The Gospel of the Lion and The Lamb” is the title I have chosen for a teaching on the Book of Revelation. The “Lion and Lamb” theme (found in Revelation 5:5-6) is the essence of the Book of Revelation. This teaching is NOT a line-by-line commentary but is rather an introductory overview of the Book of Revelation. This article compares the different perspectives on how to interpret The Revelation and other prophetic scriptures. It also discusses four issues of interpretation to be considered:
1) Time: Preterism, Futurism, Historicism 2) “Millennium”: Premillennialism (Dispensational & Historical), Postmillennialism, Amillennialism 3) Language: Literalism, Symbolism 4) Covenants (The Old Covenants & The New Covenant): Dispensationalism, Progressive Revelation. You may or may not be interested in those theological terms. But everyone has a theology regarding how they the interpret The Book of Revelation – whether you realize it or not. In any case, it is time for the Church, as a whole, to understand and live the gospel of The Book of Revelation – The Gospel of The Lion and The Lamb.
