At Christ’s Table Ministries is totally committed to Paul’s exhortation: “while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith” (Galatians 6:10) – including those in developing nations. And I do believe that Christians in western nations who ignore this exhortation will have to give an explanation when they stand before the Lord on Judgment Day.
However, we are also totally committed to another of Paul’s exhortations: “If anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good.” (2 Thessalonians 10-13)
The culture of Western Colonialism has no place in the Kingdom of God. While there is a time for western Christians to help meet emergency needs, the biblical model is self-sustaining Christian families and churches – even in developing nations. And with a view to this, entrepreneurship is clearly the path forward for Christians in developing nations.
“Entrepreneurship According to the Kingdom of God” is an article written by Fanley Agnouga of Gabon wherein he presents a biblical view of both work and entrepreneurship – a vision and a plan towards indigenous economic independence with a view to being able to bless others and support the work of the ministry in developing nations.
