“The fear of the Lord” is the Alpha and Omega of relationship with God. I have learned that at least some measure of “the fear of the Lord” is prerequisite to conversion – repentance and coming to faith in God in order to be born of His Spirit. “The fear of the Lord” is foundational to being a biblical Christian. And I have learned, after some 50 years of relationship with the Lord, that the deeper I go into the mysteries of God, the more “the fear of the Lord” becomes a clear spiritual reality. Moreover, Scripture instructs us that “the fear of the Lord” is good for us. It is prerequisite to true knowledge and wisdom.
