Self-Righteousness

Many followers of Progressive Christianity, who are sincerely motivated to work for the betterment of the human condition and alleviate human suffering, site Jesus’ words, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness…”. But what is “His righteousness”?

The Gospel of the Kingdom of God is that through Christ’s Incarnation and Atonement on the Cross, “God demonstrated His righteousness” (Romans 3:25-26) – not that people can learn – through Christ’s example to demonstrate their righteousness here on this earth. Thus, it usurps “His righteousness” with their self-righteousness exercised through political power – namely, the policies, programs, and enforced legislation of political Progressivism.
