This brief article is an excerpt from my book The Manifested Presence of God. What the Hebrews called “the Shekinah” is the manifestation of God’s glory which “appeared” between the two angels of the Mercy Seat which rested on top of the Ark of the Covenant. Three things took place at the Mercy Seat:
- God meeting with His people
- God speaking to His people
- God leading and guiding His people
This article investigates the scriptures which clearly show that this is the way God has chosen to shepherd His people – specifically, by revealing His Shekinah Glory. These things were “written as an example for our instruction, encouragement, and hope”. (1 Corinthians 10:11; Romans 15:4)
