Deconstruction, Deconversion, & Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

What is Postmodernism? What is Deconstruction? How do these relate to biblical faith? Can they result in the “blasphemy of the Holy Spirit” – “the sin that leads to death”? In 1 Corinthians 2:10-16, Paul explained that one must have the Holy Spirit in order to receive and understand the things God freely gives and reveals by the Spirit. So, those without the Holy Spirit can neither receive nor understand the things of God. The question naturally arises: Those who have “deconstructed their faith” and “deconverted” – did they ever have the Holy Spirit to begin with? And a still more complicated question also arises: Is it possible that these people had the Holy Spirit, and then lost the Holy Spirit.? Is there a scriptural basis for the possibility of the Holy Spirit being removed? What initiates the removing of the Holy Spirit? And what are the spiritual results of the Spirit being removed? This article investigates those questions and issues, seeking answers and explanations from Scripture.
