The writer to the Hebrews tells us God is shaking the heavens and the earth – all created things. There is a revelation of “the shaking”, there’s a realization of “the shaking”, and then there is the fruitfulness of “the shaking”.
No Christian would deny that Christ is the Foundation of the Church. But what does that actually mean? How is the Foundation of Christ laid in the life of a disciple? What is different about a body of Christians who have been truly built upon the Foundation of Christ?
In this article, I am focusing on the adjectives, “apostolic” and “prophetic”, rather than the nouns, “apostle” and “prophet”. My goal is a more Christ-centered perspective and understanding of the phrase, “the foundation of the apostles and prophets” (Ephesians 2:20-22), as well as, what it means to “lay” that Foundation.
